KOREAN WAR US ARMY 60mm MORTAR BOOK ENDS
This is an example of military hardware turned into a household item. The following picture provides a view
of the primer and rear end of the tail of the mortar round. The white looking material is metal (aluminum?). the
red circle is the primer.
This picture illustrates the markings in the body of the round. Notice the 1953 date.
This photograph shows the tip of the round. A hole has been drilled to deactivate the shell.
This is a shot of the other side of the tip. Notice how a bolt has been used to secure the shell
to the wood. Also notice that a second hole has been drilled to de-militarize the round.
