WWII US ARMY AIR CORPS A-9 FLIGHT PANTS
This is a WWII US Army Air Corps pair of flying pants A-9. These pants were worn by the pilots
and crew of the bombers. During missions they would have to fly at high altitude to avoid
detection. Temperature in the aircraft would fall to below zero. Wearing the appropriate
clothing became the only way to survive.
Of cotton construction. Lined with heavy wool. Green color with Army Air Corps stamp on white
ink. The pants have a black tag with golden letters. The tag contains information sucg as
contract number, manufacturer's name, etc. Some of the pants may be missing the tag due to
normal use.
