US ARMED FORCES BRONZE STAR MEDAL
This is a Bronze Star medal. As used by the US Armed Forces. Instituted in
1944 but retroactive to 1941. The requirements to receive this award are
to display heroic actions during combat. Not involving an arial fight.
All branches of service were eligible to receive this award.
The back of the medal has a pin back to secure it to the uniform. The
words "Heroic or Meritorious Achievement" are writen around the center.
