US MEDALS AND AWARDS OF GRANADA / PANAMA OPERATIONS - The US military medals did not see a great deal of changes from previous wars to the Granada and Panama operations. This page provides the visitor with a variety of the medals and insignia used during the period.

This section of the website provides the user with information to allow for the identification of medals. In addition, a price guide is provided to determine the worth of each medal in the current market.


US AIR FORCE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL - Instituted on 1963. Issued to individuals who completed three consecutive years of service in an honorable fashion.

US AIR FORCE ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL - instituted on October 20th 1980. It was issued to individuals with a rank of major and below, to recognize achievements of the individual.

US ARMY GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL - Instituted on 1941. Issued to soldiers who demonstrated examplary conduct. The name of the soldier could have been inscribed on back.

US NAVY / USMC ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL - Instituted on 1961. Issued to USMC personnel who were awarded the US Navy achievement medal.



US COAST GUARD GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL - Instituted on 1923. Issued to members who completed three consecutive years of service in an honorable fashion.

US MARINE CORPS GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL - Instituted on 1896. Issued to members of the USMC who complete 3 consecutive years of service in an honorable manner.

US ARMY RESERVE MEDAL - Instituted on September 25th 1950. It was issued to recognize the services performed by members of the reserve and National Guard.

US ARMY OF OCCUPATION MEDAL - Instituted on April 5th 1946. This is a re-strike issued to a WWII soldier after all the original WWII medals were gone.



US ARMY ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL - Instituted on 1981. Issued to recognize the contributions of Junior officers and enlisted personnel.

US ARMY ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL - Instituted on 1981. Issued to recognize the contributions of Junior officers and enlisted personnel.

US BRONZE STAR MEDAL - Instituted on 1944 but it was retroactive to 1941. It was issued in recognition of heroic actions. The back of the medal could be inscrived with the person's name.
