The EE8B field phone was employed by the various branches of service in all the theaters of WWII. The phone came with two types of
carrying cases; A leather type and the canvas type (also known as the "economy" carrier.)
The example featured on this page has the economy carrier with an adjustable shoulder strap.
The phone was battery powered but had to be hand cranked to get it started.
The body of the phone has two silver posts that were used to run wires to connect telephones together
(bottom-left).
The handset was equipped with a lever which allowed the operator to speak or listen (bottom-right).
