Korean war US Army Utility Belt -
This is a US Army combat belt. As issued during the Korean war. Of canvis construction with
multiple columns of 3 metal eyelets encircling the entire length of the belt. Each end of the
belt has metal devices that engage to secure the belt closed.
The eyelets were used as a means to hang accessories from them. Items such as
picks,
first aid kits,
canteens, etc.
could be carried on the belt by using a twisted wire hook.
The same type of belt design was employed during
World War One ,
World war Two and the
Vietnam war.
Differences between the periods consisted primarily of construction materials and the
design of the buckle mechanism.
