KOREAN WAR US ARMY TUNIC
The design of the tunics from this period was very similar to those employed during WWII.
The uniform came eith two slightly oversized front pockets, and was constructed of herringbone.
The collar had two buttons that allowed a hood to be worn. A tag with the size information was
located on the inside of the collar area. The lot numbers were often stamped with black ink on
the inner part of the uniform.

Reminiscent of the WWII period, Korean war uniforms still used the black metal buttons
with a multi-star pattern on its face. The yellow on black emblem was also a trademark
of the Korean war period. Some of these samples also made it into the early days of the
Vietnam war, however, in very small quantities. This design was not a good idea because it
could compromise the location of a soldier at night. The newer uniform's name tags are produced
with a color that closely ressembles that of the uniform, the lettering is now black.
