Korean War US Army Cargo Field Pants -
This is a set of US army combat cargo pants. As used in the early 1950's. The design comes straight from the lessons
learned during WWII. A very utilitarian pair of pants which give the soldier the ability to carry a fair amount of load.
Six pocket construction. where two pockets are located front side, two are in the back, and two are at mid-point on the
side of the legs. An interesting feature is that all pockets come equipped with a closure flap.
Of cotton construction. The material was impregnated with a chemichal to make it water repellant. The weave was tight
so the wind would not penetrate. The bottom of the legs have draw strings. The pattern date for these pants is 12/11/1957.
The uniform shown here is an example of the type used during the Korean war. The waist has a series of belt loops and
plastic brown buttons sewn around the perimeter. The buttons allow for the suspenders to be secured. The waist is
adjutable via the use of two straps with metal buckles.
