The 1st Cavalry Division was assigned to the regular Army during WWII. Stationed
at Fort Bliss, Texas. The division saw action in the Pacific theater. In 1944
they engaged in a major battle and took over the strategic Monote airfield.
The 1st Cavalry Division played a critical role during the Vietnam war. This is a
compilation of some of the variations of the patches that were used by the division.

The UH-1 Huey helicopter was the most effective way to transport the soldiers into combat.
The 1st cavalry made extensive use of the helicopters.
