Vietnam War 1967 Survival radio AN/PR-4A
The Air Force provided all pilots with a series of survival equipment. This
measure was taken in the event that the pilot's aircraft was shut down by
enemy fire.
The radio is of metal construction. It has a speaker on the top portion, this is
where the pilot would place his ear. It is followed by a lever that selects
channels (MC CH-1 or MC CH-2). A butterfly type knob is next. It can be
moved to select the Tone or Voice options.
The battery is placed inside the radio in an opening found in the lower
portion. A black metal tag has the following data:
Transmitting set, Radio AN/PRT-4A
Serial No 25944
Radio Div G.M.G.
Contract No. DABB-05-67-C-0161 U.S.

The antena is held externally by two posts. It is placed on the
side of the radio.
