US Army Vietnam Service Medal -
The Vietnam Service medal was commissioned by the president of the United States. This medal was to be awarded to personnel who participated in maneuvers in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand or adjecent waters or air space during the periods of July 4th 1965 through March 28th 1973.

Consisting of a yellow, green and red striped ribbon. The front of the medal shows the figure of a dragon behind a stock of bamboo. The words "Republic of Vietnam Service" are written below the dragon. The back of the medal shows the image of a crossbow. The words "United States of America" border the lower section of the medal. Pin-back construction.
