New York US Civil Air Patrol Shirt -
Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a Congressionally chartered, federally supported, non-profit corporation that serves as the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force (USAF). CAP is a volunteer organization with an aviation-minded membership that includes people from all backgrounds, lifestyles, and occupations. It performs three congressionally assigned key missions: emergency services, which includes search and rescue (by air and ground) and disaster relief operations; aerospace education for youth and the general public.
Each state has a branch of the CAP. The shirt featured here belongs to the New York branch.
The shirt is of sateen construction. Two front pockets. Green plastic buttons secure the shirt and
flaps in the closed position. The shirt has a black tag with silver letters just above the
pocket. Thetag Reads "Civil Air Patrol, Auxiliary United States Air Force".
The shoulder has a colorful patch which depicts the CAP logo imposed over the map of New York State
with white letters "NY".
