Vietnam War US Army Illumination Round -
This is a US army illumination round. Used during the Vietnam war to provide light to combat areas.
Normally employed to protect the perimeter of a base.
The round consists of an aluminum shell. A timer is placed on the top. It is fired from an
artillery piece. The resulting projectile is composed of phosphorus. It burns brightly and
descends slowly held back by a parachute.
The tube comes with a piece of paper with instructions written on how to use the round.
