WWII Imperial Fighting Knife
This is a GI private purchase Imperial knife. It was a fairly common practice for GI's shipping to the Pacific or European theaters to purchase their own knives to take there. The item geatured here is such an example.

Like many other knives of the time the handle is made of a series of compressed leather rings with a color pattern applied to some of the rings. The blade is single edge. The base has the manufacturer's stamp "imperial".

The scavvard is made of Brown leather. Heavy duty white cotton stitching enforces the side. In addition, rivets are placed at the stress points. A particularly interesting aspect of this scabbard is that it has been adorned with engravings to one side. A leaf is found at the bottom. Kust above the words "Aerial by Jager".
