WWII US Army Mussette Bag -
This is a US Army field gear item. As issued during World War two. Of canvis construction. Two straps are
provided to secure the flap shut. The end of each strap is capped with a metal round insert. Buckles are
sewn to the main flap. The back section has two straps. One on each side. Heavy duty metal clips are
attached to each end. These clips secured the mussette bag to the load bearing harness or to the utility
belt.
The US letters are stamped with black ink to the front of the main flap.

The US Army mussette bag issued during WWII had a series of separate compartments in
the inside. This allowed the soldier to separate papers from other items. The dividers
consisted of canvis sections.
The inside of the main flap is marked with the manufacturer's name and the date of
production. In this case they are Kasin, 1944.
