US Army Thompson Sub Machine Gun -
This is the civilian version of the Thompson submachine gun used in WWII.
The drum attached to the bottom of the gun and reads:

Where 12-43 indicate a manufacturing date of December 1943. The grenade measures approximatelly 11 inches in length.
The grenade was launched by loading the rifle with special blank rounds. when the trigger was pressed and the shot was
fired, gases would come off the muzzle at high velocity, therefore propelling the grenade.
