WWII US Army First Aid Jungle Kit - M-2 type
This is a US Army first aid kit pouch. As used to troops serving in the South Pacific theater during WWII.
Of canvis construction with a reinforced perimeter. Two snaps were provided as a means to close the lid.
The back has a heavy duty canvis strip for additional strength. The top of the strap has a wire hanger which
was used to attach the jungle first aid kit to the web belt.
The bottom of the first aid pouch has two metal gromets. Additional utility pouches could be hung from here
using the same type of metal hanger.
The top of the lid has the letters US stamped in black ink.

The insifr of the cover lid for the jungle pouch has some markings in black ink. They read
"T.F. Spec Co.", which was the manufacturer of the item. The year 1945 follows. That was
the year of production.
This example shows almost no wear. It was probably never issued.
The inside of the pouch has multiple compartments that are separated by a web of canvis sections.
This is where the different medical supplies were housed. The contents of the kit included
water decontamination pills, pain killers, and disinfectants.
The soldiers in the European theater were issue the

for a first aid pouch which contained a
metal can
with a bandage.
