WWII US Navy Sailor hat -
This is a WWII US navy sailor hat. Commonly known as "Donald Duck" hat because the cartoon character
used a similar hat. Of dark blue wool construction. Which matches the color of the
uniform .
A black band is placed around the mid section of the
hat. It has the words "U.S. Navy' written in light golden letters. some of the hats would
display the name of the ship instead.
The inside of the hat is complimented with a brown leather sweatband. The size of the hat is
often stamped in this part, just as shown in this example.
A plastic triangular shape was affixed to the crown of the hat. This is where the manufacturer's
logo was normally placed.
