WWII US VETERAN OF FOREIGN WARS MEDAL -
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Inc. is a federally chartered corporation formed on September 23, 1899 by
Spanish–American War veterans of the 17th U.S. Infantry.
The objects of the VFW are to: Speed rehabilitation of the nation’s disabled and needy veterans, assist veterans’ widows and
orphans and the dependents of needy or disabled veterans, and promote Americanism by means of education in patriotism and by
constructive service to local communities.
The VFW medal design consists of a Maltese cross with a starburst. The center has an eagle inside a circle. The words
"Veterans of foreign wars of US". The back has an empty circle with the same words on the perimeter. The ribbon is of
stitch back construction with stripes in Blue, White, Red and Yellow.
