WWII GERMAN MEDAL - 1938 MARCH

This is the medal awarded in commemoration of the 13th march 1938. The medal was instituted on the 1st of May of 1938. It's purpose was to recognize merit during the union of Austria and the third Reich. All participants received a medal.

The ribbon is red with thin black and black stripes on each side. The medal portrays two men running with flags atop a rectangle bearing the German and Swastika eagle. The figures are reminiscent of art deco style.
