The Torpedo Boat War Badge (E-boat) was issued in recognition of achievements of crews of German Torpedo boats while conducting attacks on enemy ships. The badge was also awarded to personnel killed in action. The award was given to Kriegsmarine personnel.

The badge consisted of a single piece construction. A wreath formed the outer perimeter and was guilded. The inside displayed a torpedo boat in motion. This was silver/gray in color

The bottom portion of the badge has a "wire" type catch soldered directly to the main body.

The upper portion of the badge has a tall hinge which holds the pin in a vertical position. The catch is also directly soldered into the body.

The back of the badge is manufacturer marked. Raised letters are employed to write the initals of the maker, which reads R.S. It is important to note that not all of the badges were marked.
