WWII GERMAN BADGE - POLICE -

This is a WWII German Police badge. The WWII German Police force was more of a paramilitary organization. It was used to make sure the population did not revolt. They were closer to an internal spy force than anything else.

Of metal construction. The design consisted of an eagle placed in front of a wreath. The wings are fully extended. It is clutching a swastika surrounded by a smaller wreath. A scroll with the date 1942 is placed centered under the swastika.

The back of the badge has a single marking which indicated the manufacturer. It also has a pin employed to secure the badge to the uniform.
