WWII GERMAN WWII 25 YEAR VETERAN PIN
The Third Reich developed a fairly strong veteran's association. It was designed to provide assistance to
veterans of WWII and previous conflicts. It helped the ex-soldiers with medical and social services. It
held functions a place where individuals could mingle and, towards the end of the war, enlisted individuals
to provide Germany's last line of defense against invading forces.
The item featured here is a WWII German 25 years of service veteran pin. The design consisted of a sharply
pointed oval wreath with a shield in the center. The shield has a red enamel finish. A maltese cross with
a swastika are placed in its center. The perimeter of the shield and all of its components is gold. The number
25 is displayed inside a black circle at the top portion of the badge.
A pin is affixed to the rear of the body. This provided a means by which the veteran could attach the badge
to a shirt. The back of the body shows the manufacturing markings, consisting of an LDO number 6 followed
by the words Ges gesch.
