WWII GERMAN - HAND DROPPED PROJECTILES The Germans invented an impressive array of weapons during the course of the war. Some of these weapons were very sophisticated, such as the V2 rockets. Others were more rudimentary, like the metal projectiles shown here.

The construction of these projectiles was very simple. their use was equally so. A pilot or a crew member would take a handful of these devices and drop them over crowded areas hoping to hit a soldier below.
The little stabilizer wings would make sure the projectile travelled down a straight path.
