This is a German WWII hat cockade. As issued to several military hats. All metal construction. The
design consists of three circles, inside each other. The two outer circles have ribbing patterns. The
center is of red color. The perimeter is of black color and has several points similar to a star.
Two wreath branches encircle the center piece. Corn nuts can be seen attached to the branches.
This cockade is of two piece construction. The back shows two sets of prongs, which are employed
to secure the cockade to the hat. No

are found in this example.
