WWII GERMAN POLICE MODEL 1936 SHAKO HAT
Once Hitler took over control of Germany several changes were implemented in the police force. The changes promoted allegiance to the Nazi party and helped create a state by where the police could investigate and silence the enemies of the state.

The WWII German police introduced a new uniform and shako hat in 1936.

The item featured here is a German WWII Shako hat. As issued to police officers during WWII.



The design of the hat consists of canister type body with a flat black top. Leather front and read visors. Black color as well. The chin strap is made of black leather. It has two aluminum square buckles. The body is of green wool.

A large aluminum eagle is placed in the front. The eagle has the wings fully spread. Three rows of feathers. The talons are clutching a wreath of oakleaves with a swastika in the center. The head faces to the left. Clearly defined beak. Portions of a larger protrude out from the round wreath.

The top of the hat has an enlisted man's cockade.

The inside of the helmet has a light brown leather liner. With 9 fingers pointing towards the crown. A leather strap secures all fingers together. The crown has a paper tag glued to it. The tag reads HANS ROMER NEU ULM (DONAU). ECHT FIBER-TSCHAKO.

The back of the cockade has a number stamped on it. Each side of the hat has two ventilation gromets.
