WWII German Army M-1935 Helmet -
This is a German military helmet. As issued during World War Two.
The shell has been painted in a rough out style. Possibly using sand. One opening in the rough out
cover reveals a smooth gray finish. A single army eagle decal has been applied to one side.
The original rivets are in place. This is an M-35 helmet with the rolled edge.
About 50% of the decal is missing.
The modern German helmet saw its birth during World War One. Its design was so advanced
for the time that the German government saw it fit for the same basic design to be re-employed
during World War Two.
The German helmet of World Wat Two has become one of the most recognizable silhouttes of war.
The helmetss of the Third Reich came in a variety of designs. There were approximatelly
9 different types developed. Even the non-military helmets often displayed the
swastika as a means to show support of the Nazi party. The helmet was constructed of a
combination of metal and leather.

The helmet is complete with the leather liner. The fingers point to the crown and are tied with a
leather string. A number inside a circle is stamped on one of the fingers. This is the size of
the liner.
The name of a person has been written on the liner. It was a fairly common pratctice for the
soldier to write his name here.
The size of the shell, manufacturer of the helmet and serial numbers are stamped on the inside
edge of the helmet.
