WWII German MG42 Ammo and Cleaner Boxes -
This is a German item from the World War Two period. These are two
metal boxes, each sitting to one side of the
MG 42 machine gun when it was mounted on a tripod.
The boxes are thin and have a top that is hinged at one end. A locking mechanism is found on the other end.
A handle is attached to the top to provide ease of carrying. Additional side handles are provided. Very heavy
duty construction.

One of the boxes is used to carry lined ammo which feeds into the machine gun. The other box has two containers
which contain oil and a cleaner. Not alot of markings are found on the boxes. In this case only one is marked
with a manufacturer's code stamp.
