WWII GERMAN PARATROOPER BANDOLEER
The item featured here is an example of the bandoleer's used by the Luftwaffe Paratroopers
during WWII. The construction
of the bandoleer consists of heavy fabric dyed in the traditional blue color. A total of
twelve pockets were provided, six on each side. Each pocket had two flaps, one at each
end, allowing the ammo to be reached from either direction.
The soldier would wear the bandoleer by draping it around the neck. This method would allow
easy access to the contents. In addition, the soldier could drop or pick up the load
quickly in case of combat.

The bandoleer was also manufactured in a camouflaged color. As it was commonly done
with other clothing items, the
manufacturer's markings
are stamped on the inside of the bandoleer with black ink. Block letters are used
to spell out the information; R.B. Nc. 0/0762/0069.
The pockets were secured closed
by the use of snaps. The inside of the snap is marked with the manufacturer's name, which
reads ORIGINAL 6/4 B PRYM.
