The item featured here is a Japanese helmet. As issued during World War Two.

This is a model used by security forces. The person who provided the helmet indicated that this was employed by arsenal guards. however, it may have also been employed in other scenarios.

The design of the helmet consists of an iron shell. The shape is evenly divided, not providing much of a visor or neckguard. A series of small and large rivets are visible in the dome area. They held the liner and chin strap securily to the main body.

The liner is made up of a metal ring riveted to the body. A rectangular piece of cloth has been folded and secured to the ring. A cloth chin strap is passed through two "D" rings. This is a very simple design and reminiscent of the type of devices used by the Samurai warrior.
