Iraq was propelled into the front pages of all the newspapers in the world since the begining of Operation Desert
Storm in the early 1990's. Saddam Hussein had created a large army over the years he served as president of the
country. This section of the site is dedicated to the review of the various military items employed during this
period.
The Iraqi armed forces had three primary styles of helmets. The standard Army helmet, tanker and Saddam Dedeyin
helmets. This last style was very different from the rest. All helmets were manufactured by third party
countries.

The field gear used by the Iraqi armed forces holds alot of common designs with the rest of the Arab countries. Like
much else of the military equipment, the manufacturing took place inm Asia and Europe. The majority of the
high end gear came from Europe and Russia.
