WWII Japanese Army Canteen -
This is a WWII Japanese army canteen. As issued to all armed forces during the war.
Of metal construction with a canvis webbing used for carrying purposes. A leather strap is provided to keep the
top in place. Unlike the american canteens, the top was kept in place by pressure. It was not threaded. The design was not as practical because it was cumbersome to use.
The same basic design was later copied by the Chinese and Vietnamese army.
