WWII JAPANESE ARMY FIELD LANTERN

This is a Japanese field lantern. Battery technology was in its infancy during WWII. Most lanterns were still
powered by some type of fuel.
With a Rubberized canvis container, meauring 13" in heighth. The lantern is of metal construction
with a wooden handle. the front swings open to gain access to the lighting mechanism. Additional
parts for the lamp are found in the extra cases shown in the picture.
These lamps were issued to Army and Navy personnel.
