This is a WWII Japanese medal. Issued to civilian personnel for participating in the national census.

Of metal construction. The design is very simple. Consisting of a series of Japanese characters aligned in a vertical fashion. Surrounded by laurels.

The back has two additional vertical characters. Centered.

The overall quality of the medal is poor compared to the military medals. The suspension system is a basic wire format.
