Japanese Navy Officer Dress Hat -
This is a WWII Japanese navy officer dress hat. In very good condition. Japanese helmets are hard to find because most of them were destroyed after the war. Some of them were thrown into the ocean while others were melted in order to reuse the steel. Most of the hats available today in the United States were brought back by GI's as war souvenirs.







The design of the hat consists of all wool construction. Black or fark blue. The mid-section has a cross hatch pattern. Leather black visor. The front has a device attached to a leather pieces in turn attached to the hat. A Bullion embroidered wreath with an anchor in the center and a large Chysanthemum flower on top.

This example comes with a white cover.

The hat has a black leather chin strap. A leather loop at each end allows for length adjustment, A gold button with the Chrysanthemum flower in the face secures the strap.
