Japanese Navy White Field Hat -
This is a WWII Japanese navy field hat. In worn condition. Japanese helmets are hard to find because most of them were destroyed after the war. Some of them were thrown into the ocean while others were melted in order to reuse the steel. Most of the hats available today in the United States were brought back by GI's as war souvenirs.

The design of the hat consists of a white cotton body. In the same shape as the army field hat. The example featured here is in fair condition. Shows wear. An oval with an anchor emboidered is affixed to the front. Two round ventilation holes are placed on each side.

This page is a recognition and identification guide for Japanese WWII head gear. Multiple detailed photos of a specific sample are provided. Descriptions point out specific points that should be noted.
