MISCELLANEOUS MENUKI - JAPANESE SAMURAI SWORD

The Menuki were used to decorate the handle of the Samurai swords. An identical menuki would be placed towards the center of the handle. The sword makers used a variety of themes for the Menuki. Among them were dragons, men, flowers, etc. The samples shown here illustrate miscellaneous themes.
