WWII JAPANESE ARMY DRESS SWORD -
This is a Japanese Imperial army officer dress sword. Complete with the scabbard. The general quality of swords like
this one is not very high. The blade is machine made. It does not hold an edge and has an applied Hamon wavy pattern.
No markings are found om the blade. Some examples may have manufacturer's logo or numbering.
An officer had the ability to purchase a much nicer sword with a hand-made blade. However, this option was very
expensive.

The handle is made of a combination of metal and wood. The wood on this example shows a fair amount of danage. The
pebbling on the handle is shallow and not very well defined.
The scabbard is made of metal. Silver color with a single suspension ring. A drag piece is placed at the bottom end.
