This is a British Civil Defesnse Armband. As employed in the late days of WWII and through the 1950's.
Cotton construction with chromed buckles. Marked "British" and dated 1952. The Civil defense served very
much the same role as the one in the United States.
British Commonwealth items are currently being
reproduced.
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because
the quality of the reproductions is improving. The collector must become familiarized with
the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of these medals.
Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine the authenticity of
the collectible.
