This is an early set of binoculars complete with the leather carrying case. The binoculars have a heavy duty body construction with
a leather cover. They are fairly tall. Complete with eyecups. A thumbwheel allows the user to focus the view.
The pillars of the binoculars each have white lettering on them. One reads Armee. The other reads Marine.
The case is made of dark brown leather. The lid is hinged via the use of a single leather strap. The back shows two leather belt
loops. The sides have a shoulder strap attached to them. There is a collapsible leather handle on top of the lid.
The edge weapons from many countries are currently being
reproduced.
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because
the quality of the reproductions are improving. The collector must become familiarized with
the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of these medals.
Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine the authenticity of
the collectible.
