The hat is made of a dark blue rayon material with light blue piping and a mid-body stripe. A silver braided cord is used as a
chin strap. The visor is made of black leather. An oval emblem is found in the front. It is divided in three sections with
white, red and green colors.
This hat is circa 1990's. The design was introduced in 1968. It was used with a metal red star attachment until
1989. After the fall of communism the hat badge was changed to the one featured here.
The inside of the hat reveals a brown leather sweatband with multiple perforations. The crown has an odd shaped clear plastice piece.
No markings are visible.
The headgear from many countries are currently being
reproduced.
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because
the quality of the reproductions are improving. The collector must become familiarized with
the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of these medals.
