This is an Italian army helmet. As used shortly after WWII. The main body is made of metal and painted light green. A canvis
chin strap is provided. The liner is made of leather. It is composed of a series of finger which point to the crown. The
fingers have several holes built in.
The side view of the helmet illustrates some of the ventilation rivets which serve the purpose of keeping the soldier's head cool as
well as holding the liner in place.
The headgear from many countries are currently being
reproduced.
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because
the quality of the reproductions are improving. The collector must become familiarized with
the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of these medals.
Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine the authenticity of
the collectible.
