Of metal construction with a pronounced dome shape and small visor and neck protection. A light blue sticker in the shape of a
shield is applied to each side. The shield has three yellow crowns positioned in a triangular pattern. The liner is composed
of three different leather pads. Each pad is held by the use of two rivets. A shoe lace is employed to tie the leather pads
at the crown point. This action creates a creadle that rests on top of the head. The pads are lined to make it more
comfortable for wear.
The helmet comes with a leather chin strap. An aluminum buckle is placed at the end of one of the straps. The other has several
holes to fit different size of heads.
The headgear from many countries are currently being
reproduced.
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because
the quality of the reproductions are improving. The collector must become familiarized with
the construction style and materials employed in the manufacturing of these medals.
Attention to the details is critical in order to be able to determine the authenticity of
the collectible.
