WWII GERMAN FORESTRY OFFICER BELT BUCKLE   - 
 
This is a WWII German Foerstry officer belt buckle. The Third reich created a series of organizations during
their rule.  Most of the new and existing organizations had to display the swastika as part of their uniform.
Even the Forestry department was not exempt. 
 
 
 
   
 
 
The body is of metal construction.  Round shape with a bracket attached to each side.  In this case only one
bracket is present.  The perimeter of the buckle is covered by a wreath.  An eagle over a swastika is placed

The back of the buckle shows that this is a two piece construction.  The inner piece shows the dimples created
by the pebbling in front.  No manufacturer or production markings are visible on the buckle itself.  The number
115 is stamped on the bracket.
 
 
 
   
 
 
This belt buckle may currently be reproduced.  
It is becoming more difficult to be able to tell the fake ones from the real ones because the quality 
of the reproductions is improving. The collector must become familiarized with the construction style 
and materials employed in the manufacturing of this buckle.  Attention to the details is critical in 
order to be able to determine the authenticity of the belt buckle.
