WWII JAPANESE MILITARY FLAGS
The Japanese armed forces employed a variety of flags during the course of the conflict. The most common flags
are the meatball and rising sun. They both were available in cotton or silk. The meatball flag in particular could
be adorned with a variety of hand painted graphics like tigers and dragons.
Additional examples of flags included the recruitment flags. A person would get one upon joining the military.
These could be large and colorful. Sometimes bearing the name and/or logo of the company where the person
worked.
