The sword was used during the 1800's. The handle is of wooden construction covered with snake skin. The wire wrapping
remains nice on the handle. The cross guard and handguard are integrated. The pommel is connected to them as well. A sunburst
pattern is seen on the crossguard. Additional decorations include an eagle. The pommel has a shield on one side. Known as
the Model 1872. Made in Europe and employed by American troops.
