WWII US Army First Aid Gauze -

This is a US Army first aid gauze. As issued as part of first aid kits during World War two. The gauze was wrapped in wax paper. The cover had the following information printed:

Plain gauze bandage
compressed camouflaged
3 inches x 6 yards
sterilized
prepared for US government by
Bauer & Black
Division of the Kendall company - Chicago

Although the gauze was normally issued with a full blown first aid kit, there were times when it was carried in the Carlisle kit. If that was the case, it would have been carried in a small pouch that came in khaki and green colors.
