IMPERIAL GERMAN ARMY BAYONET
This is an Imperial German Army bayonet.Smooth wooden handles secured by two rivets. The pommel is of metal construction and has the spring loaded locking release mechanism. The rifle groove id found on the top. The crossguard is small in size and has a muzzle ring on one side.

The scabbard is of black leather construction. There may have been a brass tip but it is not present. The throat is made of brass and has a long and thin frog stud. The frog is of black leather constructopion. The marking gfg 1942 is found on the back.

The blade is multi-face. Not sharp but rather designed for thrusting and creating a hard to heal wound.
