WWI GERMAN WATCH PHOB
This is a German WWI phob. During WWI it was popular for gentlemen to carry pocket watches. The phob was a way to
enhance the appearance of the watch and allowed the user to display pride in the military.
The design consists of multiple metal sections, appears to be brass, attached via the use of black cloth. A buckle is
provided to adjust the length of the cloth to be exposed. The end has a medal with the profile of two individuals on
one side and a wreath with an iron cross on the opposite side. A date of 1914 is also shown.
A chain and a hook are used to attach the phob to the pocket watch.
