THE WEAPONS OF THE GERMAN Me-109


The main armament of the Me-109 consisted of two machine guns (MG 151) and one 20 mm cannon (MK 103) or MK 108 cannons. The picture below shows one of the machine guns being secured to the wing. In addition, bombs could be attached.

The aircraft proved to be quite effective at ground support. It was first tested in real combat in Spain.
